The Marketing Power of Twitter

September 2nd, 2008 | admin | General

By now you’ve heard of social media marketing, no doubt, and hopefully you’re using it in your promotional efforts.I just came upon a blog post by Robert Plank that talks about using Twitter. It’s quite an interesting post. You can read it yourself here.

Twitter, like other social media sites, must be used carefully so you don’t appear to be spamming. But when done correctly, social sites can drive tons of targeted traffic to your own website or blog.

If you’d like to follow me on Twitter, just go here: http://twitter.com/DeniseHall

If you’re not sure how to correctly and effectively use social media sites for marketing, I suggest you pick up a couple of good reports on the topic.

You can also start watching what other marketers do. Simply look them up on Twitter, MySpace or any other social site and take note of the types of posts they make, then emulate them.

Thanks for the mention and the link, Denise… I just followed you on Twitter.

  2. admin Says:

Thanks Robert. I’m following you now, too. How the heck did you find my blog post, especially SO FAST? :)

Because of Google Alerts! I just blogged about it last week. Google will e-mail you if it indexes new pages with certain keywords (like my name).

Because you blogged about it… WordPress hit the ping sites, which got it into Google instantly.

So that’s why I was able to comment on your blog post less than 5 minutes after you posted it. :-)

Ah, I wondered if that’s what it was!

I’ve heard of Google Alerts (must have missed your blog post, though) but have never gone to check it out.

Silly me! What a GREAT TOOL!

I’m off to Google Alerts now!
