These “promo” videos don’t have to be fancy, nor do you
need expensive equipment. Chances are, you already have
what you need on your computer - Windows Movie Maker.

One of the keys to driving tons of traffic from your
videos to your website is to create several videos on the
same topic. The more you post, the more views and visitors
you’ll get.

For instance, if your website topic is bodybuilding, you
can create several similar short videos, such as:

* Weightlifting for upper body strength
* Weightlifting for lower body strength
* Etc.

Your promo videos should NOT be sales pitches. They should
simply “pre-sell” your product or affiliate product.

Using bodybuilding as an example, you could start with
someone who is new to weightlifting and caption the first
frame of your video “before yourwebsiteurl”  (Using your
own website url in there, of course. )

Then show him lifting weights for a minute, and finally,
show an “after yourwebsiteurl” frame at the end where it
becomes obvious to the viewer that he has built muscles by
lifting weights.

This is just an example, but the more creative you are, the
more likely you are to get more viewers.

Be sure you also enter an attention-grabbing description for
your video and include your website link in the description
box.

As I already mentioned, you probably have Windows Movie
Maker on your computer. It’s not difficult to use, and you
can find free tutorials just by doing a search in a search
engine.

You can create live videos using a camcorder or cell phone
and import them to Windows Movie Maker. You can even just
create “still shots” and add them, as well as frames with
captions and your website url.

One final tip…

To instantly get viewers to your videos, be sure to use your
favorite social site(s) (such as Twitter or Facebook) to
let your friends know that you’ve posted a new video.

In addition, if you have a blog, Squidoo lens or HubPage in
the same niche as your video topic, then by all means, post
your videos there, too. You want to drive traffic using as
many methods as possible.

There’s basically a way to automate everything these days. Newer marketers are very lucky people. And they probably don’t even know how “easy” they have it.

I could give you many examples of Internet Marketing being easier now than it was then, but here’s just one for now…

You used to have to manually hunt down people who were searching for your product or service in order to get your website in front of them so they could buy. You could spend hours each day just finding prospects.

Then you had to contact them manually to boot! Another very time-consuming task.

But now there’s software available that will automatically do the search for you and give you the results in less than a minute.

Talk about a time-saver!

And it gets even better…

Once you have the list of leads in front of you, you can quickly and easily email them with your offer - from inside the software!

Now, in case that sounds like “spamming” to you, I assure you it’s not. These people are actively searching for what you’re selling, and you’re simply replying to their inquiries…

Basically it’s like phoning in response to a newspaper ad where the person who placed the ad wants to buy a used dryer and you just happen to be selling one.

The possiblities are endless, as you can see in the video. And even if you don’t have your own product or service to offer, you can easily make money with affiliate programs.

The best part is, you don’t actually have to sell anything. CPA (Cost Per Action, also known as Pay Per Lead) programs work great with this software.

Here’s an example…

People are constantly seeking out free ringtones for their cellphones. Simply find an affiliate offer that pays you per lead (typically about $1 per lead for this type of offer), use the software to gather leads, and then email those leads with the CPA offer.

If they sign up, which normally just requires them to enter their cell phone number to get the free ringtone, then you just made a buck per signup.

Imagine putting your offer in front of hundreds of people per day. Even if only a fraction of them sign up, you can easily make $50, $100 or more per day.

Even if you don’t grab the software to help you automate your tasks, this method of  marketing is lucrative and easy enough for anyone to implement. You can do it manually, although your results won’t be as good, simply because you won’t be able to contact as many prospects each day. But you can do it, and that’s the important part.

I also see potential legal issues for those who buy it and upload it to their own server, as well as marketers who sell it.

If you look at the demo, you’ll see that it looks almost exactly like Yahoo Answers. I’d say it’s about 99% the same, in fact. I’m sure Yahoo had their own programmers create their Answers script, and it’s probably copyrighted by Yahoo (or whoever created it).

The one that’s being sold now by internet marketers is, no doubt, a really good replica of the Yahoo Answers (TM) site, but whether or not that “good” of a replica can legally be sold and used to create our own sites is questionable in my opinion.

I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer NOT to get into a legal tangle with big, bad Yahoo who certainly has deeper pockets than I do. LOL If you decide to purchase it, please do so at your own risk.

All that being said, I do love search-engine friendly, turnkey websites, and I frequently purchase them and install on my own server. They’re quick and easy to do, and don’t require a lot of “maintenance” because they’re “ready-to-go.”

I know I haven’t posted here in quite some time, and for that, I apologize. I just don’t seem to have enough hours in a day to do everything I want or need to do.

But I’ve been meaning to write this post for a very long time, and it really needs to be said. So today, I set aside other tasks so that I can get this off my chest…

One of the most bothersome things to me is when people ask for help with their internet business, then they don’t use the advice they’re given. Now, this has always bothered me, but writing this post today came about because of something that happened over the last few days.

My business partner, Kathe Lucas, and I have a fantastic 65 page ebook called “7 Steps to Online Income” that we give away completely free of charge. It’s geared mostly towards new internet marketers, but even seasononed veterans can learn a thing or two.

A few days ago we sent an email to the 7 Steps list members asking what they need help with so we can write appropriate articles and product recommendations for them.

Thankfully, most of the replies we received were good questions - how to create a squeeze page and such - stuff that we’ll be able to use in our emails to TEACH, which is our goal.

But about 1/3 of the responses we received absolutely FLOORED us - people said they need help “starting at step 1″ or they have a website but need to “know how to promote it.”

For instance, let’s say you create a product and write a sales page for it, you
drive some traffic to your sales page and make a couple of sales each day.

There’s nothing wrong with that scenario, per se, but how hard are you working
for those 2 or 3 sales every day?

If you spend the bulk of your time online driving traffic to make those 2 or 3
sales, you won’t have time for other tasks - like creating more products to
make more money.

You really have two choices here…

You can continue to drive traffic and make 2 or 3 sales per day, but that’s the
long, hard road with the least amount of profit.

                                      OR

You can gather other people to help you drive traffic to your site so that you
sell more, and that’s a win/win situation for everyone.

Even after paying them a commission for making those sales for you, you’ll
still pocket more money at the end of the day - every day.

I’m talking about JV partners and affiliates, of course. Your business will
level off and stagnate if you go it alone, but when you have partners it can
skyrocket to heights you won’t believe.

And with the right tools and resources, getting people to promote your products
can almost be put on autopilot, so you can concentrate on other things.

First, let’s talk about your affiliate system…

Over the years, many scripts have been produced that can do the job of managing
your affiliates, providing them with pre-made tools to promote your products,
and giving you reports to show how much each affiliate has earned so you can
make payments to them.

Having a good affiliate manager system in place is a must for serious business
owners. If you want JV partners and affiliates to promote your products, you
need to accomodate them as much as possible.

You need to do everything within your power to give them an incentive to
promote your products, including pre-written ads and emails, a high commission
rate, and easy signup for your affiliate system. If they have to jump through
hoops anywhere along the way, they’re not likely to promote.

I’ve worked with several affiliate manager systems in the past, but I ditched
all of them a few months ago for Rapid Action Profits (RAP) for a number of
reasons…

*  It’s easy to install and use, even for non-techies like me

*  Affiliates can quickly and easily choose which product or products they’d
like to promote from the affiliate center, as well as grab promotional
materials that I’ve provided  to save them time and effort

link in the email they receive with their download page URL so it’s right in
front of them

*  Affiliates get paid INSTANTLY to their PayPal account - I make sure to note
that in the email they receive with their download link, too

That last one is a biggie!

Affiliates LOVE to get instant payments because they can access their money
without waiting 30 - 60 days for the product owner to pay them.

They also know that they cannot get ripped off by marketers who simply don’t
pay their affiliates at all. (It’s sad, but true - some marketers will do this,
so be very wary.)

Once you have your affiliate manager program in place you’ll need to recruit JV
partners and affiliates. Before I get into that, let me briefly explain the
difference between the two…

Affiliates are generally people you don’t know personally who sign up for your
affiliate program.

Joint Venture (JV) Partners are people you do know, and who usually get
“preferrential treatment” because they’re your friends and business contacts.

You build relationships with your JV partners via email, Instant Message Chats,
phone calls and/or live seminars and events.

There is a lot of offline business relationship building that goes on among
many industries (realtors and mortgage loan officers, for instance), and this
is the same sort of  thing.

Your JV relationships are precious, and you don’t want to abuse them or go
about them in the wrong way. As with any other relationship in life, you have
to nurture them so they grow and blossom.

Now, on to the task of actually finding JV partners…

This is probably the part that seems the most daunting, but I think you’ll find
that it’s really not that hard once you get the hang of it.

The term “Joint Venture” means more than just people  promoting each other’s
products. There are all kinds of JV’s.

For instance, if you’re good at writing sales letters, but horrible at writing
how-to reports, you can joint venture with someone who can whip out ebooks in
no time, but can’t write ad copy that sells them.

Or if you have a great front end product, but no backend products to offer your
customers, you can approach marketers who have products that compliment your
own, and work out a deal to send each other’s buyers to the other person’s
sales page.

These are just two examples of joint ventures, but the possibilities are only
limited by your imagination.

In order to find partners, you simply “hang out” where they hang out - in forums, social sites, and blogs in your niche. Take the time to read and reply to their posts, and build the relationship just as you would with any new friend.

Keep in mind, though, that it’s very important to go about it the right way.
You want your potential JV partners to see that you’re watching out for them,
and that it’s not just all about you.

I suggest reading some good information that explains Joint Ventures in much
more detail than I can post here. A brand new product launches on November 11th

Don’t take the long, hard road to profits. There is a shorter, easier route -
JV partners and affiliates - so be sure you go in that direction and you’ll get
where you want to go much quicker.
 

More and more people are turning to the Internet every day in
hopes of making that extra cash, but for new marketers, and 
especially those who are desperate for financial relief now,
the money might not come fast enough.

Learning to market online involves a learning curve that causes
most people to spend a year or more testing the waters before
seeing any significant money for their efforts.

But many successful marketers have become successful just by 
“thinking outside the box.” They did something different from
what everyone else was doing and it was well-received by their
target market and very profitable.

Such is the case with a young man I spoke to on the phone the
other day. He wasn’t really even known in the Internet Marketing
arena until now, yet he just launched a product that’s been very
profitable - to the tune of 1,000+ sales and more than $57,000
gross profit at the time of this writing!

This guy didn’t jump online and try to make money the same way
everyone else does by selling information products or even
physical products. He actually builds websites that are highly
ranked in the search engines for his local offline business
owners.

But then one day he set his mind to “think outside the box mode”
and created a whole new type of product - a unique way to market
his websites so he can make more sales.

And instead of selling “the same old stuff” as other people 
(a.k.a. an ebook explaining how to do what he does), he produced
a marketing kit for Internet Marketers to sell his websites to
offline businesses.

If you think about it, this concept is similar to some large
offline corporations and it works well.

For instance, I can think of several companies right off the top
of my head that provide their representatives with postcards,
party invitations, business cards, and product samples. All the
representatives have to do is hand out or mail their marketing
materials and they get sales.

By thinking outside the box, this relatively unknown marketer
created something other Internet Marketers hadn’t seen before
and it’s been a huge success!

But, as you can see by the similarity to some offline companies,
he didn’t completely reinvent the wheel. He just tweaked it a
little and adapted it to Internet Marketers, and had a whole new
target market to sell to.

Of course, he’ll reach his goal of selling more of his top
ranked websites to offline businesses, too… all because of his
ability to “think outside the box.”

And in my opinion, his product couldn’t have come at a better
time for those in need extra income in this tough economy. The
marketing kit doesn’t require any computer skills, marketing
experience, or that infamous Internet Marketing learning curve
either.

At least once or twice a week I get a reply to an email that I’ve sent to my list members that’s nothing more than reverse marketing. For anyone who’s not familiar with that term, it means you market to people whose lists you’re on.

In other words, people on my subscriber list hit the reply button and don’t actually ‘write’ an email to me. They just include information about some product or program that they’re pushing.  

Now, the reason I don’t know who I’m ranting at here is because I don’t know if this is a common ‘marketing method’ among newbies who just happen to think of it and think it’s a good idea, or if some marketer actually wrote a report on using this method and sold it to newbies.

Either way - newbies, take heed…

This is not the way to market your products or programs. It’s nothing more than spam, because I didn’t ask to hear about your products. You asked to hear about mine, therefore you double opted in to my mailing list, giving me permission to email you. I did not give you permission to email me.

Of course, if you ever have questions, comments or joint venture offers, I’m more than happy to read your emails, and I reply to every one that I receive.

But please don’t get on my bad side, or that of other marketers, and start your marketing career with a bad reputation by using reverse marketing methods. Starting off on the wrong foot will only lead to failure.

It’s much easier to ‘play nice’ and build a good reputation from the get-go, than it is to re-build your reputation after you’ve had a bad one.
